nest...

I wanted something to hang above the bed at the cabin so I thought about one of my favorite words- "nest". That's the right feeling for the place!
Surprisingly enough, there were letters left over from some ancient Tres Jolie paper (really, really old stash!) to spell the entire word. To make a "base" for the letter, I first cut out my shape in chipboard using a favorite Nestabilities die, then I covered that in vintage sheet music.

Since I usually use recycled boxes for my projects, to add some thickness to them, most of the time I glue several layers together. When using a die to cut shapes, it's really easy to make them all exactly the same. Binder clips help hold things together for a few minutes until the glue dries.

The letters looked flat against the background so I used more layers of cardboard underneath to raise them up.
Got them all done... now they just need frames.
Dollar Store and Heirloom White spray paint to the rescue!
I can't wait to hang them up!
