sending birthday wishes...

From the first time I saw the Sew Pretty 2 Collection from Tonic I was just itching to play with it. There is no way I can pick a favorite because I love them all!

This pretty corner die is from the Twisted Ivy set.
My card front is only 6"x6" so the die cuts required a little bit of snipping at each end in order to get them to fit into the shape of a frame on the base. This is a great thing to keep in mind when you're creating- don't feel restricted if something isn't the exact size you need. Some creative "altering" is completely OK!

The lighter blue die cut is layered over a darker blue/gray to create a "shadow" effect.
I love the look of stitching on paper and quite often I use my sewing machine to add this detail. No machine needed with these dies- the individual pin holes allow you the flexibility to use a real needle & thread for hand stitching or... you can simply grab a pen! No kidding, unless you tilt the card and look closely you'd never guess it was just pen and ink that made the pretty stitching.

To complete the card there is a little fairy with her wand, sending out her best birthday wishes. Crystal Drops in Pale Gold give the tiniest detail to her crown and a touch of Stickles add some sparkle.

xo,
