Is it that time of year? again?

Oh I am so bad about posting here. Seems like there are just a million reasons why I haven't and I just keep telling myself that when I sit down at the computer next time, I'll write one out. Well... as you can see- it just hasn't been happening.
The Thanksgiving holiday went by in a blur- I'm pretty sure it was only about a week ago that I dragged out all of my Halloween decorations. What happened? Now that all my autumn decorations are tucked away till next year and anything remotely resembling a pumpkin has been stuffed into it's storage bag, I'm feeling like I can take on the Christmas season! How envious I've always been of all those people who have their holiday decorations up before that last load of dishes is finished on Thanksgiving... you know who you are, Cathy... but try as I might, I'm just not 'one of those people'. I'm more of a 'still putting stuff up the day before Christmas' kinda girl.

Well they say a leopard can't change it's spots, so instead of feeling guilty about the way I am, I've decided to embrace the fact that I'm slow to get things done. This year I've decided to purposely take my time. Yeah, actually enjoy the entire season. Instead of feeling that old familiar 'this should have been done by now' in the back of my mind, I'm going to slowly and deliberately prepare for Christmas this year. I am going to enjoy putting up the holiday decorations that have been collected over the years, pulling out all those recipes that signal Christmas for me, spending some creative time making a few special gifts for a few special people. After all- it only comes around once a year!

So today as I unpack the first of a gazillion boxes of decorations, I'm posting a little project from a few years ago. Enjoy!
