a valentine banner...

Here is the finished banner! It was super easy to make and I got a chance to use up some of the stuff in my overflowing valentine drawer. The individual pennants were made so that they could just slip over the ribbon that is tacked up on my studio doors. That way I can easily change out the banner without having to take down the ribbon strips (they can stay up all the time). I love to make banners so this gives me a place to hang them without having to put holes into every wall and piece of furniture in the rest of the house.

The pennants were simple to make- I cut a piece of paper into a 6"x12" strip. Fold it in half to make a 6" square. To get the point, find the 3" mark on one of the cut edges. Take a ruler and mark a cutting line from the folded edge to the center mark on the cut edge. Repeat for the other side. Voi`la! You have your cutting lines. When you open it up, it should look like this-

After you have them all cut out, decorate to your heart's content (ha ha , very funny).
Use up all those little bits and bobs you've been saving- it was a blast to make them. If you are looking for vintage images, check out The Graphics Fairy at http://http//graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/

Have a great day!
